Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy

At Murrayfield Ice Arena, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all users, staff, and stakeholders. This Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy outlines the standards of behaviour expected and the measures we take to protect individuals, particularly children and vulnerable persons.

 

1. Purpose

  • To promote safety, dignity, and respect in all interactions.

  • To ensure the protection of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

  • To establish clear expectations of behaviour for all participants.

 

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All users of Murrayfield Ice Arena.

  • Employees, contractors, and volunteers.

  • Any third parties or partners engaging with our services.

 

3. Code of Conduct

All individuals visiting or using the facility must:

  • Treat others with respect, fairness, and dignity.

  • Refrain from discrimination, harassment, bullying, or abusive behaviour.

  • Use respectful language in communication (no hate speech or offensive remarks).

  • Respect privacy and confidentiality of others.

  • Follow all site rules, laws, and community guidelines.

 

4. Safeguarding Principles

We are committed to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults by:

  • Prevention: Creating a safe environment and reducing risks.

  • Protection: Responding promptly and appropriately to concerns.

5. Reporting Concerns

  • Reports will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled confidentially.

  • No one will face retaliation for reporting a concern in good faith.

 

6. Responsibilities

  • Management: Ensure safeguarding policies are in place, updated, and enforced.

  • Staff/Volunteers: Comply with this policy and complete safeguarding training where applicable.

  • Users/Community Members: Follow the Code of Conduct and report any concerning behaviour.

 

7. Monitoring and Review
