Public Skating Sessions

Murrayfield Ice Rink welcomes everyone from complete beginners and families to more experienced skaters.

There’s no need to bring your own skates, as our hire service covers everything from toddler size 5 right up to size 15. Now running daily, sessions are a great way to enjoy the ice at any age, admission for children under 5 is free if they have their own skates and hire, if needed, is £4. You can book online in advance or simply pay at the door by card or cash, and there’s a large free car park available on site.

Skate Hire

Skate hire sizes range from tots/toddlers to size 15. Different models of figure and hockey skates are available.

Visit the Iceberg Cafe to refuel and quench your thirst!

Safety

Most skating sessions will have a Steward/Ice Marshall on the ice with you to ensure your safety and can assist you if you are having difficulty skating.

Our Skating Tips


1. Wrap up warm

It is best to bring a warm jacket and gloves! (we sell gloves and other items at reception).


2. Ask for help

Don't be afraid to ask our Ice Marshalls/Stewards for advice and assistance. They are more than happy to help.


3. Stay refreshed

The Iceberg Cafe is open Wednesday to Sunday for a selection of food and hot drinks.


4. Keep your valuables safe

Lockers are available in the Skate Hire (£5 Deposit).


5. Get your size right

Try and select a well fitting pair of skates and don’t be afraid to ask for another pair to try if the first ones don’t feel quite right.
