About Murrayfield Ice Arena

A Scottish Skating Landmark

Welcome to Murrayfield Ice Arena, one of Scotland’s most iconic ice rinks

Located in the heart of Edinburgh, we’ve been home to generations of skaters, hockey players, and families enjoying time on the ice since 1957.
From public skating sessions to professional training, Murrayfield has long been a place where the city comes together to skate, play, and celebrate.

A Hub for Skating, Hockey & Community

Our arena hosts a wide range of activities throughout the week — including public skating sessions, ice discos, figure skating lessons, hockey training, and community events.
We’re proud to be the home of the Edinburgh Capitals Ice Hockey Team, as well as local skating clubs and coaching programmes.
Over the years, Murrayfield has helped nurture incredible talent, including Sinead and John Kerr, the Scottish ice dance duo who went on to represent Great Britain at European, World, and Olympic level.

Behind the scenes, our dedicated team keeps the ice in top condition and ensures a safe, enjoyable visit every time.
